Tony Bolden and John Amador of Old Dog Productions are teaming up with Lincoln County law enforcement agencies to serve free Thanksgiving dinner to families, the elderly, and any one who doesn't have a place to go for a holiday meal.

The dinner will be served between 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Khrome, 2919 Sudderth Drive, Nov. 20.

Bolden and Amador thought of this idea over a year ago. Frustrated with the way law enforcement have been receiving such a bad rap across the country lately, their idea is to reunite Lincoln county residents and its law enforcement members with a holiday meal. They decided to pair it up with a holiday meal to give back to the community.

Local law enforcement included that will be helping out with the holiday meal are the Ruidoso Police, Downs Police, and Sheriff department along with the Blue Knights (a law enforcement motorcycle club).

Their idea is to get as many people a holiday meal that would otherwise not have one. Local law enforcement agencies will be seeking out families or individuals that they will give a ‘ticket’ to that will need to be filled out to get an appropriate head count. The ‘tickets’ will be returned back to Bolden and Amador.

“This is the best way we can get an idea of how many people we will be serving this day. Plus, it gets people to re-think about how their local law enforcement, and national law enforcement, has been receiving such a bad rap,” Tony Bolden of Old Dog Promotions said. John and I decided to do this this year with the Blue Knights law enforcement club because we have a local chapter here. I am hoping I can help people to trust our local police officers with everything that is going on out in the world today.”

A traditional Thanksgiving meal will be served to locals at the Khrome Grill by staff and local law enforcement.

Bolden estimated that they will see anywhere from 200-250 people through the doors at the Khrome Grill and will be preparing the meals there. They will have a huge team of volunteers and local law enforcement will be helping the serve the dinners.

“This isn’t for me, it is for the community. I am trying to help build up the morale between the public and police officers. Times are tough today. Not like it was back when I was a kid and my parents lived paycheck to paycheck, we weren’t rich. It is so hard for families to make ends meet these days. We are just trying to help our community,” Bolden said.

A traditional Thanks giving meal will be served will all the fixings. Bolden and Amador are asking the community to please contact them or a local law enforcement agency if ‘you know of anyone’ that this would help. “This is for the people of Lincoln County that would not have a holiday meal otherwise. If it works out, we are thinking about trying it for Christmas as well,” Bolden said.

Bolden expressed his gratitude to the local law agencies and volunteers that are helping them out to see this become a success. “It is available to any resident of Lincoln County. We will keep serving until the food runs out. We are hopeful that the interaction between the community and out law enforcement will have an impact on how people view police officers these days. We also know that there are people out there that may only have one meal a day, some are children that only get a meal at school, and we just want to do something for them,” Bolden said.
