Karl Harris Steve Kovalan | Director of Legal Research | ALM Intelligence

Steve is the Director of Research at ALM Legal Intelligence where he manages its survey research team. Previously, as a Senior Analyst at ALM Legal Intelligence, his areas of emphasis included law department operations, lateral partner hiring, cybersecurity, and information and knowledge management. Prior to joining ALM Intelligence, he served as a Senior Analyst at both Deltek and Thomson Reuters.

Steve holds a Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in history and political science from West Virginia University. Born and raised in West Virginia and a current resident of Northern Virginia, Steve is a member of the District of Columbia Bar.

As CEO, Karl leads strategy and operations at Lex Machina. Previously, Karl led all product development, product strategy, and engineering efforts at Lex Machina as CTO and Vice President of Products through Lex Machina’s successful acquisition by LexisNexis.

Prior to Lex Machina, Karl worked as a Fellow at XSeed Capital Management, a seed stage venture firm and Lex Machina’s lead investor. He also served as Vice President of Product Management and as Vice President of Engineering for Flurry, Inc., the provider of the largest mobile analytics and monetization platform, where he was a member of the founding team before Flurry was acquired by Yahoo. Prior to Flurry, Karl spent five years building sonar systems for Applied Research Laboratories of the University of Texas at Austin.

Daniel Lewis Daniel Lewis, | Co-Founder and CEO | Ravel

Daniel Lewis is the CEO and co-founder of Ravel Law, which LexisNexis acquired in 2017. Daniel holds a JD from Stanford Law and a BA from Johns Hopkins. His past experience includes work with the Bipartisan Policy Center in Washington, DC; Cooley, LLP; Passport Capital; the Natural Resources Defense Council; and United States Senator Barbara Boxer. Forbes named Daniel to their 30 under 30 list in 2015 and to their All Star Alumni in 2017.

Adam Peltz Adam Peltz | Knowledge Management Resource Attorney | Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Whartorn & Garrison LLP.

Adam Peltz is a Knowledge Management Resource Attorney at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP. Prior to joining Paul Weiss, he practiced commercial law and employment litigation. He also has a degree in information technology.

He works with Paul, Weiss’ Litigation and Real Estate departments to implement effective KM strategies, workflows, and technologies. He is also responsible for the firm’s case analytics initiatives.
