VILLAGE OF MENOMONEE FALLS - A new Fiddleheads coffee shop on Appleton Avenue will open slightly earlier than expected, on Nov. 25, the company announced Nov. 8.

As of September, the shop was slated to open sometime in December. Located in the historic Koehler-Zahn House, this will be the Thiensville-based, family-owned coffee shop's seventh location.

The shop, N88 W16621 Appleton Ave., will sell coffee roasted in house, as well as sandwiches, homemade bread and pastries. It will host a grand opening from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the 25th, coinciding with the Menomonee Falls Christmas Parade.

The grand opening will include live music and free coffee and hot cocoa for parade attendees, according to a news release.

A formal ribbon-cutting is slated for 4 p.m. Nov. 27.

Once officially open, the shop's hours will be from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

Renovations have been conducted on the Koehler-Zahn House, which was built in the 1880s, to accommodate the coffee shop. An addition is also being built onto the house. Jovana Cubric, Fiddleheads' vice president of operations, said it will have a rooftop patio with glass walls.

Cubric has said the company has its eyes on Brookfield for its next location. Fiddleheads opened in 1996 and now employs about 50 people.
