Linda Rosenthal performs in Carrizozo  Nov. 16

COMMUNITY BRIEFS NOV. 14-NOV. 21:

NOV. 16: Carrizozo Music is pleased to announce that violinist Linda Rosenthal, accompanied by pianist Maxim Pakhomov, will perform at 6 p.m., Nov. 16, in Carrizozo at Trinity United Methodist Church. The free performance, featuring music by Beethoven, Bartok, Sarasate, Massenet and Bock, is presented by the Piatigorsky Foundation of NYC. The duo will present a special school concert at noon on Monday, Nov. 11, in the Carrizozo School Old Gym.  All concerts are free and open to the public.

NOV. 19: The White Mountain Search and Rescue team’s regular monthly meeting is set for 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 19,  upstairs at the First Christian Church, 1211 Hull Road, Ruidoso.  All interested people are most welcome to attend and the board meeting at 5:45 p.m.. COMING UP:

NOV. 23: Rich Chorné’s All Star Review returns from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., Nov. 23, to Sacred Grounds Coffee and Tea House in Ruidoso. A presentation of Mountain Entertainment Group for the Arts, the assembly of master musicians plays popular hits of the boomer generation along with Santana favorites and the blues. Reserve seats are $15 at www.EventBrite.com, or at the door if not sold out. Sacred Grounds is at 2704 Sudderth Drive, Ruidoso.

NOV. 24: Turkey Trot 5K-Run/Walk the Links, 10 a.m., at 685 Hull Road at the dog park. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.. There is no pre-registration. The entrance fee is one or more cans of food to support the Lincoln County Food Bank. T-Shirts for the first 30 registrants as sizes and supp;lies last. Fruits, granola bars and water will be provided.

NOV. 25: Be sure to put noon to 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 25, on your calendar as the kick off date for the new and exciting Ruidoso Sunday Gospel Brunch, except it now will include a scrumptious Buffet. No more standing in long lines to order your lunch.

Sacred Ground’s own Chef Zach is putting together a tasty buffet and of course jamie & aka still will be dishing up the finest in Gospel music. A $15 cover charge includes both the buffet and live music. DEC. 3-8: Holiday Open House at the Hurd La Rinconada Gallery and Guest Homes from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m, daily. Tour the guest homes decorated for the holiday season at 10 a.m. or 2 p.m. each day. Refreshments will be served. Selected prints will be on sale and there will be a drawing for a gift basket. The gallery is at 105 La Rinconada Lane, San Patricio.

DEC.15-16: The Advent season and Christmas will be coming soon. Holy Mount Church will stage its second Open House and Creche Display again from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 15, and from noon to 4 p.m., Dec. 16. This year, members of the community are invited to call the church if interested in having their own nativity scene on display. It was a popular event in 2017 and we hope to make this an annual tradition. Call the church office and leave a message for Bettye McGinness at 575 257 2356, to participate or for questions.
