Police log: Shippensburg students warned not to loiter restaurants after school

Chambersburg area

Oct. 15: A Shippensburg man is accused of using a guitar to break out a window of a Mercersburg woman's car during an argument, according to Pennsylvania State Police. Police responded at about 11:41 a.m. to Fifth Avenue in Greene Township, after the woman had fled the scene of the incident and called police. 

Nov. 6-7: A purple Huffy bicycle was stolen from the 100 block of Park Avenue, Chambersburg Police said. 

Nov. 7: Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an incident in which a 5-year-old boy was physically abused by his mother in Greene Township. 

Nov. 7: Stephen Holbrook and Bradley Casey were cited with public drunkenness after police responded to a report of two intoxicated men causing a disturbance, at 10:38 p.m. in the area of South Main and West Catherine streets, Chambersburg Police said. 

Nov. 8: Lawrence Lahr was cited with public drunkenness after police responded  to a report of a person lying in the grass in the area of College and Edgar avenues at about 7:33 p.m., Chambersburg Police said.

Greencastle area

Nov. 2-5: Someone entered the gated PennDOT stockpile on Willowdale Road, Antrim Township, and discharged a fire extinguisher inside a PennDOT vehicle, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Shippensburg area

Nov. 6: Shippensburg Police are warning youth to not loiter at local businesses after school. The department received a report this date of a group of about 20 kids hanging out at local food establishments and disrupting normal business. They were "not making purchases, came in and sat down and made themselves at home," police said. Police said the behavior will not be tolerated and warned that trespassing and/or loitering charges will be filed if it continues.

Waynesboro area

Nov. 8: A southbound tractor-trailer crossed the double yellow line while negotiating a curve on Wayne Road at 8:23 a.m. and struck a Jeep Commander traveling on the curve in the opposing lane, according to Pennsylvania State Police. The driver of the Jeep may have sustained minor injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
