The 2018 George Logan Scholarship, presented by the National Association of Farm Broadcasting Foundation, was awarded to Jacqueline Janorschke, a Junior at the University of Missouri studying science and agricultural journalism.

Janorschke did not grow up on a farm, but agriculture was all around her in rural northwest Missouri. She unveiled her passion for agriculture through FFA and her beekeeping project.

“It was a little bit different route that I found agriculture through, but then as I started beekeeping I founded my own business and by selling honey and beeswax products I began to realize that people didn’t really understand agriculture through the questions they were asking me and their curiosity to learn more.”

She was a communications intern for the United States Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C. which shaped her decision to become a strategic communicator for an agriculture company after graduation.
