Ethanol production, stocks rise

U.S. ethanol production and stocks both climbed last week.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.068 million barrels a day, up 9,000 on the week, and the highest weekly average since late August.

The industry continues to anticipate solid demand, including year-round E15 use, which EPA Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler tells Brownfield will happen by mid-summer of 2019.

Stocks rose 404,000 barrels to 23.150 million.

The USDA expects record corn for ethanol use this marketing year, with updated projections out Thursday.
