White House adviser Kellyanne Conway on Wednesday did her best to spin Tuesday’s big GOP House loss as a victory for President Donald Trump — but CNN’s Alisyn Camerota quickly shut her down.

During an interview on CNN, Conway all but ignored Democrats gaining a projected 30-plus seats in the House while at the same time touting Trump’s successful efforts to pad the GOP’s Senate majority.

Conway also touted the strength of the economy and said that the low unemployment rate in the country “mattered to female voters” in the 2018 midterms.

“Understood, but you still lost the House!” Camerota replied.

“Right, that was to be expected,” Conway replied.

“The economy is fine but you still lost the House!” Camerota insisted.

Conway then tried to pivot back to former President Barack Obama losing 63 House seats during his first midterm election, but Camerota pointed out that those losses came in the middle of the worst recession since the 1930s, whereas Trump’s losses came with unemployment under 4 percent.

“The economy is going well, and you still lost the House,” Camerota said. “So clearly, voters are displeased with something.”

“That’s a historical trend, but the president’s engagement helped mitigate those trends,” Conway replied.
