Comments for The Way Forward Unlike the fundamentalist Christian, who is certain they are right, I know that I can be wrong. That said, based on the available evidence and the fact I do not have have the requisite faith necessary to believe, I do not think the claims Christians make for God,Jesus or the Bible are true. The same could be said for Christian beliefs about human nature, sin, and a host of other things. Based on my exhaustive and extensive investigation of Christian belief, I am confident that I have come to the right conclusions.
I think that is well stated Bruce.
My conversion (salvation) experience was one of fear. It was fear of death, nothingness, and when I started believing it was wonderful for a time. I thought I had found the real meaning of life. The problem was when all the “add ons” showed up:
Baptism (when and how and why?)
Communion (ditto)
What is considered a sin, what can/can’t I do to please the Lord?
What about my family who don’t believe are they really going to hell?
and the list goes on and on….
