 Comments for The Way Forward What’s a transitional fossil Jason?
Pick any animal from the past and it will look like an animal suited to its environment and it will be indistinguishable from its parents and children while also being distinct from other animals around at its time. Looking at the past from our current position we look for clues in lineage using what we know about anatomy now. Fossils of bird like creatures with teeth raises a question, where are they now? What did it look like before and what would its descendants look like now?
Why do we see so fossils of animals that are not around now? What happened to their descendants? If all animals were created as they exists now, why don’t we see more fossils that are clearly of animals we know and love today?
The advancement of DNA technology has provided great steps forward and we can now trace a relation map of what animals are related to which. Who would have predicted that the Hippo and the Whale are so closely related? If evolution was a myth, then how come DNA allows us to see how all animals are related?
