I assume you are expecting that if it were true we would see an animal give birth to another animal that was of a different species. If that’s the case, then that is a complete misunderstanding of how evolution works.
What you need to happen is for a population to separate, typically geographically, and over the course of time minor changes in each group eventually result in the two (or could be more) groups no longer being able to produce offspring. There are a number of such examples of species becoming separate and therefore different, the salamander in California is an example where several populations have moved around a lake and the differences as they have traveled are now apparent. To expect that to happen within the short time that mankind has been studying evolution is simply not viable.
