In honor of the International Day of the Girl, Citrix is proud to announce that we are expanding our partnership with Girls Who Code, an organization dedicated to closing the gender gap in technology.

In addition to our continued sponsorship of the Summer Immersion Program, which provides life-changing intensive computer science education, mentorship, and career exposure to girls between 13-17 years old, we are thrilled to be a founding partner of the College Loop program, Girls Who Code’s first in-person program for college students. This new program seeks to sustain girl’s interest in computer science by helping them build a sisterhood of supportive peers, and exposing them to role models and careers in technology.

In 2018-2019, Girls Who Code expects to have nearly 13,000 college-aged alumnae. These alumnae are choosing to major in computer science and related fields at 15 times the national average. And, their Black and Latina college-aged alumnae are majoring in computer science and related fields at 16 times the national average. Not only does Girls Who Code provide life-changing computer science education to underserved students, but they have also built a pipeline of future engineers for internship and career opportunities.

Girls Who Code alumnae will lead the College Loops program, inviting any women on their campus, who are studying computing or interested in technology, to hone their computer science skills and engage with other women to take action, collaborate, create, and inspire one another. Plus, they have exclusive opportunities to meet with industry professionals and companies!

Citrix is thrilled to be part of this new initiative. Through this partnership, Citrix will not only help girls persist in computer science degree programs, but also launch a dedicated Girls Who Code internship program in the 2019–2020 academic year.
