State police were contacted in February to investigate the alleged abuse after information was received from Children and Youth Services about a young girl who was inappropriately touched by her mother's then-boyfriend, identified as Coons.

During a forensic interview, the girl told authorities she would ask Coons for a drink after her mother went to bed, and he would molest her while the two were inside his trailer in Letterkenny Township, court documents show. Police said the girl, who was between the ages of 4 and 5 at the time of the incidents, was unable to recall how many times they occurred, but said they happened while she was lying down and Coons was standing beside her.

Court documents show that after Coons touched the girl, he would give her juice and put her to sleep.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6.
