Trump to speak at National FFA Convention

President Trump will speak at Saturday’s closing session of the 91st National FFA Convention in Indianapolis.

The National FFA Organization says it has become a tradition to invite the sitting president to make remarks during its convention.

The annual event draws more than 65,000 attendees. Ag Secretary Sonny Perdue is also expected to attend.

Former President Harry S. Truman spoke in 1957, Gerald Ford and Jimmy Carter spoke in 1974 and 1978, and George H.W. Bush spoke in 1991.

  • I am so happy that President Trump will be there to speak to our young FFA members. My grandaughter Kelsey LaFave will be there to witness this event. On Sat. Morning her brother Logan LaFave will be receiving his American Farmer degree on Sat. Morning. Wouldn’t it be awesome if President Trump presented them with this award. I will be there with my daughter and Logan’s other grandparents. I am so excited. I have never been to a convention and I am looking forward to it and I hope I get to see President Trump but most of all see Logan receive his award. Thank you for letting us know!
    Sincerely a very proud Grandma,
