U.S. enjoying positive trade buzz at Export Exchange

One of the hosts of the 2018 Export Exchange describes a very positive buzz about trade with the United States.

U.S. Grains Council CEO Tom Sleight says more than 35 countries are represented at the biannual event held this year in Minneapolis.

“Yes there are some concerns here and there, and yes we’ve had to talk to some people here and there about what’s going on (with trade), but in this meeting we’re seeing a very positive energy within the hallways (and) a lot of business going on.”

USGC, Growth Energy, and the Renewable Fuels Association are hosting the Export Exchange.

Speaking to Brownfield at the event, Sleight says attendees seem to be looking past trade posturing and rhetoric.

“I think people here are business people (who) want to do business, and that’s really what you’re hearing out in the hallways.  What is your origination?  What are you looking like in terms of production?  Credit.  Watching the value of the Dollar.”

He says all those factors are coming into play more than politics right now.
