USGC seeing explosive growth in Vietnam

The U.S. Grains Council is seeing explosive growth in Vietnam.

USGC regional director for Southeast Asia Manuel Sanchez says Vietnam has increased U.S. corn imports from 3 million metric tons in 2008 to 10 million today.

“I mean, that’s significant the growth we’ve seen just in ten years in Vietnam.”

Speaking to Brownfield at the 2018 Export Exchange in Minneapolis, he says Vietnam has also become one of the top destinations for U.S. Dried Distillers Grains.

“We’re projected to bring in 1 million metric tons of DDG’s just into Vietnam alone.  That’s about 10 percent of (U.S) DDG’s exports.  It’s a crucial market.”

Sanchez says corn exports across Southeast Asia are increasing.
