New Berlin fire, police departments respond to 11-year-old boy on fire

New Berlin fire and police departments responded to a report of an 11-year-old boy who was on fire Monday afternoon.

The departments were dispatched to a residence near Moorland Road and Rodgers Drive about 3:15 p.m., according to a joint news release from the departments.

The boy was found in the front yard of his neighbor's residence. Fire personnel took him to a hospital.

Detectives were called to the scene to investigate the origin of the fire. The Police Department is not presently seeking any suspects, the news release said.
