Dry weather allowing Minnesota farmers to catch up

Rapid harvest progress was made last week as Minnesota farmers took advantage of dry weather.

The latest crop report from USDA shows soybeans jumped from 38 to 62 percent harvested, just two days behind last year but still 10 days behind normal.

Corn harvest is 35 percent done, one week ahead of a year ago and equal to the five-year average.

The sunflower and sugarbeet harvests remain behind, but the potato harvest is nearly complete.
