Week 9: Advertiser prep football player of the week nominees

It's time once again to vote for the Montgomery Advertiser prep football player of the week.

Each week during the season, we will nominate five players for their performances from the previous week's games. The winner will be announced in Thursday's paper.

Here are the nominees for the games of Oct. 18-19.

Tony Amerson, RB, St. James — Carried 11 times for 224 yards and four touchdowns in a 42-0 win over Prattville Christian.

Tucker Neven, QB, Macon-East — Completed 14 of 22 passes for 267 yards and touchdown passes of 43, 41 and 25 yards (with two interceptions) in a 35-26 win over Northside Methodist. Also carried 10 times for 59 yards and a touchdown. Broke the school's all-time passing yardage record.

Tyquan Rawls, QB. Wetumpka — Completed 14 of 19 passes for 184 yards and two touchdowns and carried 10 times for 129 yards and three touchdowns in a 61-40 win over Selma.

Dakota McGhee, QB, Hooper — Threw for 207 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown in a 47-16 win over Clarke Prep.

Trey Lindsey, QB, Montgomery Academy — Completed 22 of 30 passes for 316 yards and three touchdowns and also ran for 28 yards and a touchdown in a 43-6 win over Pike Road.
