Man killed in northwest-side shooting identified

A 41-year-old man shot to death Sunday night on the city's northwest side has been identifed.

The Marion County coroner's office on Tuesday identified the victim as Todd Chapman.

Officers found the wounded man shortly after 10 p.m. in the 6500 block of Oakview Drive, just east of Eagle Creek Park.

The man was shot multiple times. Medics took him to Eskenazi Hospital, where he died, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Police did not release information about a possible suspect.

Police think the shooting may have been an accident, Fox59 reported.
