Trucking company Black Horse Carriers Inc. will close its Kenosha terminal, cutting 107 jobs.

Trucking company Black Horse Carriers Inc. will close its Kenosha terminal and eliminate 107 jobs, the firm said in a notice filed Friday with state and local officials.

The terminal is expected to close Jan. 22. The great majority of those losing jobs are drivers.

In its notice, Black Horse gave no reason for shuttering the terminal, at 5521 88th Ave. Company representatives were not available for comment Friday afternoon.

Black Horse, based in Carol Stream, Ill., was the country's 75th-largest for-hire trucking company last year, with $413 million in revenue, according to industry trade journal Transport Topics. The publication said Black Horse had 3,150 employees and fielded 1,670 tractors.
