ST. THOMAS TOWNSHIP - A Saxton woman was not wearing her seat belt before she was killed in a crash Tuesday afternoon on Lincoln Way West, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Cindy Macklin, 39, of Bedford County was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash in the 6000 block, just west of Apple Way.  Police released Macklin's identity and the details of the crash on Friday morning.

According to the report, Macklin was driving east on Lincoln Way West (U.S. 30) in a Chevrolet Colbalt at about 2:24 p.m. when, for unknown reasons, she crossed into the opposing lane of traffic. The car she was driving hit a Honda CR-V head-on.

The Chevrolet spun and came to a rest along the north berm of the road.

The driver of the CR-V, Terri Yeager, 66, Chambersburg, was taken to Meritus Medical Center with injuries of unknown severity, police said.

MMP&W Fire and EMS, St. Thomas Fire Department, Abe's Auto Service and volunteer fire police assisted at the scene.

The fatal crash took place at around the same time as another incident farther east on Lincoln Way West in Hamilton Township.

A wrecker truck towing a truck tractor caught fire, producing a large amount of smoke. The driver pulled off the side of the road. Fire police closed the road for a short period of time.
