After years of observing, Iowa farmer participates in Global Farmer Roundtable

The U.S. representative on the Global Farmer Roundtable is motivated by the need to tell his story. North Central Iowa farmer Larry Sailer looked on from the Roundtable audience in prior years, but wanted to be part of the eleven-nation discussion. What he’s sharing with this group of farmers is an extension of what he’s done for years.

“I’ve written blogs, I’ve been on social media, I’ve given a hundred presentations around the state,” Sailer told Brownfield Ag News during a break in the Roundtable discussion. “[I’m] just sharing what we do as farmers and that it’s not Old McDonald’s Farm anymore; there’s a reason we do what we do.”

Sailer’s harvest is on hold after a few inches of snow interrupted corn shelling in his area.

The Roundtable is held in conjunction with the World Food Prize Forum in Des Moines.
