Our World: State Road 80 East

Two weeks into my internship I was sent to Clewiston for an assignment. The day was bright and the wind was light. The sun left me beat. The distant clank of metal filled the air, as I pulled into the Shell gas station on SR 80 East. Five neon vested road workers in hard hats, hammers in hands, stood on the other side of the road, constructing. These are some of the faces of the people working to improve the state road, in the sun, sweat glistening and many with smiles on their faces.
