Givenchy Midnight Skies Collection

This autumn, Givenchy has gone with reds that they call ‘sequin’ reds – what a great description because it immediately made me think of shimmering, glamorous dresses in the dark of the evening. And glamorous just about sums up this tidy collection of five pieces. The lipstick, embossed with stars, is called Midnight Red, £25.50, and has a light sheen.

The palette, Midnight Skies Prisme Quator, £40, is a stunner – three black undertoned darker shades (khaki, brown and grey) with a lighter, brighter red/pink. I cannot tell you how shimmery they are – they almost look wet because they’re so luminous. This is absolutely going into my make up drawer. The exterior design is interesting too – very elaborate with a textural quality that references the couture fabrics of Givenchy.

I’ve really accepted that I’ll never be able to use these fluid liners with any degree of competence but this Liner Vinyl, £25, in Red Night, makes me feel like I might at least have another go! It’s a deep, almost metallic red that I want on my lids right now! There are also three other products that I don’t have here – a dark red mascara (with a detachable brush), a red metallic top coat for lashes and a metallic red nail polish. All absolutely lovely. The model in the picture on my press materials is wearing the silvery-grey shade from the palette with a streak of red liner – it’s gorgeous.

In the swatch above, it’s the palette first, the liner then the lipstick. It’s all at Debenhams HERE.
