NBA: Ex-FGCU star Brandon Goodwin waived by Memphis Grizzlies

Former Florida Gulf Coast University star Brandon Goodwin was waived by the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies following their preseason finale Saturday.

Goodwin, a 6-foot-2 guard, earned a spot in training camp after his performance during the summer league. He played in four preseason games, averaging 3.3 points. Guard Markel Crawford and center Doral Moore also were waived Saturday.

It's possible Goodwin could sign with the G League's Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies' affiliate.

"I appreciate their effort and the way they competed," coach J.B. Bickerstaff told the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "I appreciate the way they tried to do all the things we asked them to do."
