The search for a York County man wanted on assault charges since August has ended in an arrest.

On Friday, the U.S. Marshals  arrested Juijuan Williams, 34, of the 800 block of Wayne Avenue, according to a news release.

Back in July, Williams had allegedly attacked his girlfriend — including head-butts and uppercut punches — to the point that she needed neck surgery, according to court documents. He is now facing one count each of aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and terroristic threats.

According to the original arrest warrant, on July 5, York City Police were sent to York Hospital to interview victim Ashley Nichole Beck, who was in the intensive care unit after having undergone neck surgery.

Beck said she received a text from her ex-boyfriend, and Williams asked who it was. Beck, not wanting to lie to Williams, told him who had texted her, the warrant states.

"Williams became upset, grabbed Beck's cell phone then head butted her," according to the warrant. "Williams yelled at Beck, 'The only way out is in a coffin.'"

He then head-butted her again, which caused a "gaping wound on the top right part of Beck's head," according to the warrant.

"Beck started to black out as Williams gave two upper cut punches to Beck's left side of the jaw," the warrant states.

Beck was able to run away and call a family member to get a ride to York Hospital. Once there, Beck received neck surgery, as doctors fused two vertebra in her neck and placed five staples in her head where she had been head-butted, according to the warrant.

U.S. Marshals had been searching for Williams since a warrant for his arrest was issued on Aug. 2.

And on Friday, they found Williams at a home in the 500 block of Walnut Street, according to the news release. He tried to run across a rooftop in an attempt to escape, but was quickly captured.

Williams was taken to the York County Central Booking Center where he was arraigned on the above-listed charges.

Bail for Williams has been set at $30,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 30, according to court documents.
