Yamileth Centner

Yamileth Centner, 66, of Bryan, passed away Friday October 12, 2018. A time of visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, October 18, 2018, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Center in Bryan. The Rosary will be recited at 7pm. A Funeral Mass is set for 10am Friday, October 19, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Bryan City Cemetery. Services are in the care of Callaway-Jones Funeral and Cremation Centers of Bryan College Station.

Yamileth was born March 10, 1952, in San Jose, Costa Rica, to Fernando and Alicia Diaz. She enjoyed working in her garden, volunteering at her church, and spending time outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Rolando Castro, and her parents.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Juan and Maria Castro, Rolando and Cristina Castro, Jose Castro and fiancé Graciela Sanchez; daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Sergio Gonzalez; grandchildren, Angel Castro, Elizabeth Castro, Emily Castro, Anna Castro, Rolando Castro III, Adriana Gonzalez, Alexander Gonzalez, Jayden Perez; and numerous brothers and sisters in Costa Rica.

  2. On behalf of all the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion to the Medical Center in College Station, I send you our sincerest condolences. I spoke with Yami several weeks ago when she told me her cancer had returned and she could not longer go to the MED. It was a shock to learn that she passed so soon. Yami was such a wonderful, loving, giving person. I was honored to know her and pray that she is now in the loving arms of Jesus.

  7. Yami was a wonderful person. Her smile would light up the whole room. From my time of knowing her there was not a day she was mad . I’m going to miss her so much. She was beautiful inside and out. She is in a better place now and she will be missed prayers to her family she was strong and I know y’all are too.

  12. I was so heart broken to learn of Yami’s death. She was the most precious lady of great faith and selfless service. She had a servant heart like her Lord and was such an example to others. She helped me so much with our monthly Pot Lucks at St. Mary’s, and was always so eager to assist in the kitchen. I will miss her greatly.
