This U.S. Mint numismatic sales report covers the week ending October 7, 2018. The Mint’s best-selling product this week was again the 2018 U.S. Mint Proof Set (18RG), which sold 6,801units. In second place was the 2018 U.S. Mint Silver Proof Set (18RH), which sold 4,381 units. The third best-selling item this week was the 2018 U.S. Mint Uncirculated Coin Set (18RJ), with 3,184 sold. It’s followed by the 2018 Breast Cancer Awareness Coin and Stamp Set (18CL), with 2,846 individual units sold; and the San Francisco Mint’s 2018 American Silver Eagle one-ounce Proof coin (18EM), with 2,300 sold.
This week only saw a minor downward adjustment of -4 for the 2018 American Palladium Eagle one-ounce Proof coin (18EK), which is now marked “currently unavailable” on the Mint’s website.
The 2018 America the Beautiful Quarters Circulating Coin Set (18AC) was released on October 10 and will be included in next week’s report. Additionally, a limited number of World War I silver dollar and medal sets are now available for purchase.
The following are the U.S. Mint’s cumulative sales figures for the reporting period ending Sunday, October 7. “LKS” indicates that the number given is the last known sales figure for a sold-out item. Mintage and product limits are indicated, where applicable; if a coin is in stock but is nearing sold-out status, a link to the Mint’s product page is provided. Items in italics either are scheduled for release or have been released too recently to appear on the report; items in bold are appearing on the report for the first time.

Currently you can buy the Newest 5 oz. Bullion pucks for “as Low as” $100.80 Or 38% Premium to Spot
Currently you can buy the Newest 5 oz. “P” puck for $154.95 Or 113% Premium to Spot
In January 2019 you will be able to buy the Newest 5 oz. Proof puck for my Guestimate ~ $219.95 Or 202% Premium to Spot
I Wanted an ~ 62% Premium to Spot for the 2018 Proof Palladium and that idea was called “CRAZY”
202% Premium to Spot and I don’t call that crazy, I call that Doing what the Mint CAN Do and still sell All 100,000 Proof Pucks…

@cagcrisp… There will be a one month window to purchase the 2019 Apollo 11 silver 5 oz. at a “discount” from what will later become the “regular” price. Given that the coins will have 11+ months to achieve a sellout it may get priced even higher than $219.95.

@Anthony, With mintage of 100,000 and HHL of 5, They will Not last a day…

Maybe it is an optical illusion but , the obverse of the Apollo 11 coin looks slightly oval.
CaliSkier says
Anyone else notice that, on the 2019 Apollo design that the shadow cast by American flag, is cast in the opposite direction as the shadows cast by the astronaut and lander?
Regardless of the curvature of the visor, all of
The shadows should be cast in the same direction?

Talk about about tying the hands of the Mints hands regarding innovation? A Major League Swing and a miss with having only one design across the 7 different 2019 Apollo 11 product offerings. Had this not been a Congressional decision with all specs mandated, the Mints Artists or public could have come easily come up with different designs to tell a more complete story?
Versus the Trilobite(Rev), Hollywood(Obv) offering in 7 different flavors of metal, weights and finishes,
Before realizing there was going to be only one design for all of the offerings this truly Historical world momen, I’d been much more
excited. IMO the mintages are too high on all of the coins. I’ll be beyond impressed IF they sell more than 50,000 of the 5oz pucks Cag?
There have been some really nice designs for the ATB pucks and other than the very 1st year, seemingly consumers don’t appear to be overly enthused about 5 oz silver coins?
I’m having a hard time envisioning 100,000 being gobbled up by the declining hobby? Remember, this was 50 years ago, and a plethora of technology has come about since then all over the world. Due to time passed and too many distractions, IMO I’d venture to say there are a number of people out there thinking that The Moon landing was done in Hollywood or on some secret lot? That Hiroshima is a dessert at their local sushi joint and Montezumas Revenge is actually caused by Montezuma? I call it the Hershey Squirts of
humanity and the majority of humans ALL have common sense! That’s the problem, we actually need more humans with UNCOMMON sense, the ability to use ones brain for critical thinking! If everyone had Uncommon sense, it would be common!

The Apollo 11 commemorative coin program may turn out fairly successful because it is a subject of major interest within the space exploration community & to collectors of space memorabilia. Natural history enthusiasts and collectors of minerals and fossils will also want these coins as well. Revealed now (for the first time) the obverse depicts the momentous discovery made during the Apollo 11 mission of first evidence of life on another world: a primitive ancestor to Earth’s trilobite, proof that life was “seeded” on Earth from outer space!
Sales of these coins may perform quite well since demand will not be entirely dependent upon collectors of modern U.S. commemorative issues. With one month introductory “discount” pricing beginning Jan. 24 and ensuing 10+ months in 2019 I’d expect the 5 oz. silver proofs to end up as a sellout.

Concerning the Silver content in the $1 Apollo coin program…
Looks to me like it was a typo in the MNB article that stated 99.9% Silver.
The legislation states: “1.500 inch diameter” and “.2673 grams”
Both of those are the Same specifications for the Current $1 Silver commemorative that are 90% Silver….

Obverse ok reverse a great though but IF like the mock up Meeeh looks cartoonish…. another I don’t care mint issue & I stayed up to watch Apollo missions. Total lack of innovation on this set, memorializing the work in going to the Moon, no ‘work’ put in for 7 identical designs……ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
