Ex-GOP Congressman Rips Trump's Claim Devin Nunes ‘Should Get the Medal of Honor’ for Giving Him Cover in Mueller's Russia Probe

Trump made the remark on Fox & Friends, telling the hosts that Nunes was deserving of the nation’s highest military honors because of his work on behalf of the president throughout Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.
“Trump just personally insulted each and every one of the 3,521 brave soldiers, sailors, airmen, marines, and Coast Guardsmen who've received the Medal of Honor since it's [sic] creation in 1861,” Walsh tweeted.

Nunes has played a notorious role in the Republican effort to discredit Mueller’s Russia investigation. He offered Trump cover when the president claimed—without evidence—that Barack Obama “wire tapped” Trump Tower during the 2016 presidential election.
In August, Nunes told Republican donors a GOP majority is necessary to protect Trump from Mueller.
“If Sessions won’t unrecuse and Mueller won’t clear the president, we’re the only ones, which is really the danger,” Nunes said at a private, closed-door fundraiser.
