A replacement for "Colorful Serape," a public artwork stolen from a bus shelter in Milwaukee's Walker's Point neighborhood, has been installed at the shelter, the Milwaukee County Transit System announced Friday.
The image, created by Milwaukee artist Gloria Ruiz-Santos, was stolen Sept. 10 from the shelter on the northwest corner of South 6th Street and West National Avenue.
Someone returned it to the shelter September 22, the day after surveillance video of the thief stealing Colorful Serape was released to the media and featured on local news reports.
