Suspect in custody after man is shot early Sunday morning at party in Lansing

LANSING — A suspect is in custody in connection with the shooting of another man early Sunday morning.

Lansing police said they responded just before 1:30 a.m. to reports of shots fired at a large party on the 200 block of South Washington Avenue. A 21-year-old Grand Rapids man had been shot. He was hospitalized with injuries that are not life-threatening, police said.

Officers took a 29-year-old Lansing man into custody, and the incident remains under investigation.
