Julie Chen officially leaves 'The Talk'

Television host Julie Chen has left "The Talk" on CBS after eight years. She confirmed her departure in a video at the end of Tuesday's episode. Her departure comes just after her husband, Les Moonves, was given the boot as chairman and CEO of the network after multiple allegations of sexual assault surfaced. Chen didn't say anything about that in her video farewell. She thanked her co-hosts and the team behind the show and said cited her needing to "spend more time at home with my husband and our young son" as her reason for leaving the show. “I will always, always cherish the memories we shared. Most important, I want to thank you, the viewers, for allowing me into your home every day," she said in the clip. "It was a privilege that I will forever be grateful for.” Her co-hosts and the network responded with upbeat commentary, with Sara Gilbert thanking Chen for "all you did to help the success of the show." CBS also issued a statement saying the network has "tremendous appreciation" for Chen's dedication and passion. 

People are mad that Mac Miller wasn't in Emmy tribute

The day after the Emmy Awards, there always seems to be rumblings of folks who are upset their favorite star was left out of the "In Memoriam" segment. Mac Miller, a rapper who died Sept. 7 of an apparent drug overdose, was not featured. His fans took to social media expressing their outrage that even though Miller, 26, was not a television actor, he should have been remembered like singer Aretha Franklin or Sen. John McCain. Other famous folks who died in 2018 and were not included are TV evangelist Billy Graham, fashion designer Kate Spade and TV host Robin Leach. 

Tom Arnold files police report

After an altercation between comedian Tom Arnold and "The Apprentice" producer Mark Burnett at a pre-Emmys party Monday, Arnold has filed a police report. Arnold tweeted about the incident after it unfolded writing that Burnette "went apes--t and choked me at this huge Emmys party and then he ran away with his torn pink shirt and missing gold chain." CNN confirmed that Arnold did file a police report with the Los Angeles Police Department. Burnett's wife Roma Downey tweeted that Arnold "tried to ambush" her husband. Their animosity toward each other seems to stem from Arnold accusing Burnett of keeping recordings of Donald Trump on "The Apprentice" from going public. Arnold's new series "The Hunt for the Trump Tapes" is set to premiere on Viceland this week.
