ST. JOHNS — A Lansing man police say is linked to 17 home invasions in Clinton County was wearing an electronic tether at the time of the incidents, police said.

Gregory Schulz, 30, confessed to 17 daytime home invasions that occurred in Clinton County between July and September, Clinton County Sheriff's Office Lt. Sean Dush said. Police believe he also is responsible for multiple home invasions in other counties.

Schulz was free on bond with an electronic tether from the Eaton County Jail awaiting trial an a bank robbery charge. He wore the tether which allowed police to determine he was at the residences at the time of the home invasions, Dush said.

Schulz was charged with four counts of second-degree home invasion in Clinton County. He pleaded not guilty to all counts at his arraignment Monday.

Detectives from other counties are reviewing the tether report to see if he is responsible for other crimes, Dush said.

Schulz has cooperated with police since his arrest and has helped recover some stolen property, Dush said.

He was being held in the Clinton County Jail on $600,000 bail.
