Fireworks are ignited for the opening of an NCAA Division I college football game Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, at Beaver Stadium. The No. 2 Penn State Nittany Lions defeated Michigan 42-13, improving their season record to 7-0.

Penn State police and the FBI are investigating a threat posted to social media that spoke of a potential shooting at Beaver Stadium, according to a report on centredaily.com.

In a tweet Wednesday that has since been taken down, @DanielTheDuck8 said he has "decided that I'm going to commit the biggest mass shooting in history of the world, killing thousands of fans in beaver stadium during one of the games next year."
