REN Atlantic Kelp & Magnesium Anti-Fatigue Body Wash

Many brands are making forays into sustainable, clean packaging that have more to offer than just recyclability. Not everyone is doing it the right way – I’ll cite the ‘eco friendly’ wooden packaged bronzer I saw the other day that’s not refillable as an example. It’s got no longer life than any other and you could even argue that gouging the glued in metal compact is so much effort (if not actually impossible) you wouldn’t even be able to easily recycle it. Eye roll.

REN has gone the extra mile on this – it’s absolutely 100% recyclable but more than that, it’s made from 20% reclaimed ocean plastic which is exactly what it sounds like: plastic that was hitherto littering the sea and disturbing fish is now a bottle in your bathroom.  REN is committed to being zero waste by 2021. There are plenty of beauty brands that do not make one jot of effort to help the global eco-system so it’s notable and laudable when they do. I actually love this body wash – if you’ve never smelled it, it’s so clean smelling as well as being fresh and invigorating so it’s the right product to make the 360 degree clean point. I’m hoping that their other products will gradually follow suit although eco packaging for beauty can be very complex especially with active ingredients that can degrade plastics of any sort.

Anyway, no more to say on this other than if you like the idea of a clean to skin, clean to planet product, it’s £22 HERE.
