Penn State football student season tickets selling out at rapid pace

First lesson for Penn State students: Procrastination is bad.

Student season tickets for the upcoming Nittany Lions football season are selling out rapidly.

After the available graduate student season tickets sold out in 26 minutes on Monday (according to Penn State football's Twitter account), the rising seniors sold out in just three minutes on Tuesday, and the juniors in four minutes on Wednesday.

Rising sophomores can purchase season tickets starting at 7 a.m. Thursday, and incoming freshmen can do so starting at 7 a.m. Friday.

To be eligible, students must be registered for at least 12 credits for the fall semester. The season ticket package costs $232 and includes all seven home games.

According to a recent report on onwardstate.com, the Nittany Lions' student season ticket prices are among the most expensive in the country.

Oregon ($292), Ohio State ($252) and Notre Dame ($245) charge more for season tickets.

Penn State football ranked eighth in the final Associated Press Top 25 poll from last season, and James Franklin's Nittany Lions rank ninth in the USA Today preseason rankings that were updated last month after spring practice.
