The Red Wings are likely to be headed to southern California immediately after their own home opener.

The Anaheim Ducks announced their home opener as Oct. 8 – against the Red Wings. Anaheim is celebrating its 25th anniversary season, and to mark that milestone, Anaheim will face the Wings, who were the Ducks’ first opponent ever in Anaheim.
