Lansing resident Billie Lantis won $150,000 playing the Powerball on Saturday.

LANSING — A  61-year-old Lansing resident won $150,000 in the Powerball lottery game Saturday.

Billie Lantis matched four of the white balls and the Powerball in the drawing, Michigan Lottery officials said in a Tuesday news release.

“Every night there is a Powerball drawing I wake up at 11:05 p.m. to check my tickets,” Lantis told lottery officials. “I don’t set an alarm, I just wake up like clockwork every time."

Lantis picked the Powerplay option that multiplied the prize by three, giving her a $150,000 prize. She bought her winning ticket at East Paris Discount Liquor in Kentwood.

Every month, Lantis and her husband visit the store, which is about 50 miles west of Lansing, to buy a month’s supply of tickets. Lantis said she heard about a big winner purchased at that store, so the couple started buying their tickets there.

Lantis visited Lottery headquarters on Monday to claim her prize. With her winnings, she said she plans to complete a home renovation project, take a vacation and save the rest.

Powerball plays can be purchased for $2 at Lottery retailers across the state. Drawings are on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
