Second-half goals from Roddy Green and Shawn Lawson powered Detroit City FC to a 2-1 victory over Chattanooga FC in a friendly soccer match Saturday before 5,245 spectators at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga, Tenn.

The two National Premier Soccer League clubs will meet in the return leg next Saturday at Keyworth Stadium. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m.

Green opened the scoring in the 63rd minute for DCFC. The forward penetrated the penalty area where his first attempt on goal was saved, but Green lofted the rebound over the goalkeeper.

About 16 minutes later, Lawson broke inside the penalty area and unleashed a shot that eluded the Chattanooga FC goalkeeper to give the Le Rouge a two-goal cushion.

Chattanooga FC was awarded a penalty in the 90th minute, which Joaquin Cabello placed past DCFC substitute goalkeeper Max Jewett. Detroit Mercy's Nate Steinwascher kept a clean sheet for the first 82 minutes before being subbed.
