A York man was arrested Friday night after he was discovered taking a shower in the home of a woman who had a protection from abuse order against him, according to a criminal complaint.

Dashan Ray Dorsey, 49, of the 300 block of Susquehanna Avenue, was charged with criminal trespass and violating the PFA after he was able to get into his ex's home while she was not there and take a shower.

According to the complaint, Monique Rankin's daughter, Whitney, called police at about 9:30 p.m. Friday to report that Dorsey was in her mother's house in the 700 block of West Princess Street taking a shower.

When police arrived, the complaint states, they called out for Dorsey and he responded, saying that he was the only person in the residence. The police officer then asked Whitney to call her mother and found that Rankin was hiding in an upstairs bedroom.

Rankin told the officer that she had left the house at about 7 p.m. and that when she returned a short time later, she discovered she had forgotten her key. She went to a neighbor's and called her daughter. While she was waiting, she noticed that lights were on in the second floor of her home and that the TV had been turned on.

When she entered the home with her daughter, the complaint states, Rankin heard the shower running upstairs and when she went to investigate, she saw Dorsey taking a shower.

She ran to the front bedroom and closed the door behind her and her daughter went to the neighbor's house.

The neighbor told Whitney that Dorsey had stopped by earlier and asked to be let into the residence, the complaint states.

On the ride to Central Booking, the complaint states, Dorsey "began to rant about the incident," saying that he thought he was at his mother's residence. He also told the officer that he knew he was not supposed to be there, according to the complaint.

There was no explanation in the criminal complaint about why he was taking a shower in the residence.
