Bicyclist struck by SUV in Lansing has died

A bicyclist who was struck by a sports-utility vehicle Friday night has died from his injuries.

LANSING - A bicyclist who was struck by a sport utility vehicle Friday night has died from his injuries. 

Joe Luster Tucker Jr., 59, of Lansing, was struck in the 1500 block of South Cedar Street, between Baker Street and Mt. Hope Avenue around 8:20 p.m. Friday.

Tucker was taken to an area hospital in critical condition and later died, said Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt.

Merritt said it appears Tucker entered the roadway and was attempting to cross when he was struck by the driver of the SUV. The accident remains under investigation.
