Minnie Lee Mooney, 84, of rural Rockport, IL passed away Saturday (3-17-18) at St. Joseph’s West Hospital in Lake St. Louis, MO.
Minnie was born March 29, 1933 in Belleview, a daughter of Henry and Anna Osterman Willman. She married Charles Beuford Mooney on June 7, 1952 in Pittsfield. Beuford died October 17, 2007.
Minnie enjoyed playing cards and watching westerns on TV. She never met a stranger in her life and was always interested in everyone she met. She enjoyed spending time with her friends over coffee at the Atlas Café. Minnie never cared about traveling, but always felt the best place was at home surrounded by her family.
She was graduate of Pleasant Hill High School and a member of the Rockport Christian Church.
Surviving are three daughters, Brenda Mooney of O’Fallon, MO, Debbie (Jack) Diffey of Louisiana, MO and Anna Marie (Troy) Wallace of Louisiana, MO, five grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa) Kennedy of Little Rock, AR, Eric (Kim) Kennedy of Wentzville, MO, Chad (Autumn) Diffey of Camdenton, MO, Kyle (Leah) Diffey of Louisiana, MO and Katie Elizabeth Wallace of Louisiana, MO and eight great grandchildren, Zachary Kennedy, Ian Kennedy, Jaelyn Kennedy, Marley Kennedy, Beau Diffey, Piper Diffey, Lylah Diffey and Isabelle Diffey and numerous nieces and nephews.
Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by a brother, Leo Willman.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday (3-21-18) at 2:00 p.m. at the Lummis Funeral Home in Pleasant Hill conducted by Richard Biggs. Burial will follow at Miller Cemetery near Atlas. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to St. Agnes Cemetery at Belleview.
