Robert “Bob” A. Ruyle, 76, of the IL Veterans Home in Quincy, and formerly of Pleasant Hill, passed away Tuesday (3-13-18) at the IL Veterans Home.
Bob was born November 22, 1941 in Pleasant Hill, a son of Harry Burdette and Berniece Irene McClintock Ruyle.
Bob was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1962 through 1966. Following his discharge from the Air Force, Bob was employed in construction. He would later begin a long time truck driving career retiring from Trinity Industries.
Bob was a member of the Pleasant Hill American Legion and was an avid fisherman.
Survivors include a brother, James “Jim” R. (Donna) Ruyle of Pleasant Hill, a niece, Shari Hyde of Pleasant Hill, a nephew, Jay (Dianna) Ruyle of Carrollton and several great nieces, great nephews and great-great nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
Cremation rites are being accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
