Bicyclist critically injured in crash on South Cedar Street in Lansing

LANSING - A bicyclist was in critical condition after being struck by a sport utility vehicle Friday night on South Cedar Street.

A bicyclist was critically injured in a crash on South Cedar Street on Friday night.

The collision happened around 8:20 p.m. in the 1500 block of South Cedar, between Baker Street and Mt. Hope Avenue, police said. The northbound lanes of South Cedar were closed in that area while police investigated the crash.

The bicyclist is a 59-year-old Lansing man, Lansing police Sgt. Jeromy Churchill said. He was in critical condition at a local hospital, the sergeant said.

The crash remains under investigation, and no other details were immediately available.
