LANSING - A power outage is affecting nearly 2,000 Lansing Board of Water & Light customers.

The outage was caused by a vehicle hitting a utility pole off Waverly Road, near Interstate 496, BWL spokeswoman Amy Adamy said. The pole caught fire after the crash, which happened around 2 p.m., she said.

Some traffic lights in the area aren't working, according to police dispatch reports.
