District 3 basketball results, boxscores for Monday, Feb. 19

Boys basketball

York High 57, New Oxford 53
The Bearcats used an 11-0 run at the end of the first quarter to take a commanding lead, but New Oxford recovered in the second to trail by just three at the half. The lead was never more than a handful the rest of the way. Kyree Generett and Clovis Gallon Jr. led the way for York High with 18 and 15 points, respectively. Deriq Brown led the Colonials with 14 points. The Bearcats will be on the road again in Thursday's quarterfinal, taking on second-seeded Greencastle-Antrim. New Oxford falls to the losers' bracket, where it will host Donegal on Thursday.

Garden Spot 66, Dover 59
Jordan Shewbridge caught fire for Garden Spot, and the fourth-seeded Eagles never found a way to douse his flame. He finished with 31 points to lead all scorers. Keith Davis scored 29 to lead the Eagles, which tied the game at 48 in the third quarter before being outscored by six in the fourth quarter. Dover will host Shippensburg in a quarterfinal consolation game on Thursday.

Northeastern 58, Conrad Weiser 45
The Bobcats jumped out to a 23-10 lead after one quarter and never looked back to send Conrad Weiser into the losers' bracket. Antonio Rizzuto led all scorers with 34 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Third-seeded Northeastern will host Hershey in a quarterfinal on Thursday. Conrad Weiser will face fellow Berks foe Exeter on Thursday. Tickets for the Northeastern-Hershey game will go on sale from 3-6 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the ninth-grade office.

YAIAA Division III co-champ York Catholic saw its season come to a close at 15-9 thanks to the combined scoring of Elijah Bynum and Carter Hurst. The pair nearly outscored the Fighting Irish, combining for 39 points. Riley Brennan and D'Andre Davis led York Catholic with 14 and 13 points, respectively.
