EAST LANSING – Michigan State will play its annual spring scrimmage under the lights.

The Spartans’ Green and White game will kick off at 5 p.m. on April 7 at Spartan Stadium. It will be the first time MSU will take advantage of the new permanent lights that were installed last summer for the spring scrimmage, which is free to fans.

The Spartans will begin their 15 spring practices on Feb. 27.

Coach Mark Dantonio alluded to the potential for a late-afternoon spring game in mid-January. His Spartans are coming off a 10-3 season, a Holiday Bowl win over Washington State and a No. 16 finish in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

MSU expects to have a projected 19 starters returning and more than 50 letter-winners back from last season when the 2018 season opens Friday, Aug. 31 at home against Utah State.

Steady prices

MSU also announced its season ticket prices and parking passes will remain the same as the previous two years. Season ticket renewal deadline is underway and runs through May 1. Ticket renewals can be done online (msuspartans.com/tickets) or by phone (517-355-1610 or 1-800-467-8283).

The school added that premium prices for the school’s Scholarship Seating and premium seating areas, though prices remain static, are no longer tax deductible.

New season ticket sales begin June 13.
