Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum Review

Go on admit it, Instagram is a huge part of your weekly - if not daily - life. You scour it for hours, gleaming the little grids for inspiration, comfort and maybe even product recommendations? Well in the coming months, I predict that more and more brands will gear their beauty launches towards the social media market. Some will be nothing more than an aesthetically pleasing gimmick, and others such as Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum are a sheer revelation of how this ideal can be properly executed and offer both style and substance for the digitally influenced masses.

“The bottle is not designed to seduce men, but to keep company with the women that wear the perfume”. - Alessandro Michele, Gucci Creative Director

The bottle. Oh boy that alluring, sweet as sugar, almond pink, bottle; it spoke to me through the pages of a glossy magazine before I as much as caught a whiff of the luscious, white floral trails of Gucci Bloom. The powdery, uniformly blush bottle, speaks to my millennial, basic soul, on a level I'm not sure I have the talent to express via words (or wild hand gestures) and I'm sure that was all part and parcel of Gucci's aim.

It photographs beautifully, it looks great on display and in a world of Instagram likes being King, you can't tell me this wasn't purposeful. It worked, I have found myself not only wearing Gucci Bloom on an almost daily basis but a quick flick through my Instagram feed (@thesundaygirluk shameless plug and all), shows I'm not shy of including it in a photo or ten. What can I say, I'm weak and the mountain of likes it has received, are all but testament to the power of a great bottle and marketing ploy.

Bloom is a bold white floral, something I wasn't all that aware I was a fan of until testing this gloriously, presented fragrance out for myself. Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum manages the impossible it is both audacious, strong and ever so sexy but without being overtly obvious. Yet all the while delicate and powdery; in my mind and experience, it offers the best of both worlds - a long wearing fragrance that is never overpowering. It is rather incredible in that aspect alone.

The structure of Gucci Bloom Eau de Parfum has been designed to reflect its moniker; the juice "blooms" and unfolds, offering various layers of often complex notes as the hours tick by. The concept is that Bloom alongside being a white floral scent, will transport the wearer to a colourful and diverse garden that is in full season. Truly that does leave the scent open to both interpretation and of course imagination, so for that reason, I do think it is important to quickly glaze over the notes of Gucci Bloom: top notes include imported Rangoon Creeper, combined with a heart note of Jasmine bud and  complete with a sensual base note of natural tuberose.

Think clean, fresh, effortless, delicately floral and you won't go far wrong.
