Lansing Mayor-Elect Schor's inauguration: Here's what you need to know

LANSING — Mayor-Elect Andy Schor has announced plans for his inauguration, which will be open to the public.

This is what you need to know if you plan to attend.

WHO:  Andy Schor will be sworn-in as mayor. Additionally, Peter Spadafore, Jeremy Garza and Brian T. Jackson will be sworn-in as new members of Lansing City Council. Incumbents Kathie Dunbar, city council, and Chris Swope, city clerk, will be sworn-in for additional terms.

WHEN: 11:30 a.m. inauguration ceremony followed by a reception from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2018.

WHERE: The Lansing Center, 333 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing

When Schor takes office, Lansing will have a new mayor for the first time in 12 years. Outgoing Mayor Virg Bernero did not seek a fourth term.
